A single specimen of an undetermined genus and species of Crangonidae (Caridea) is reported from the Lower Miocene (Burdigalian) Shimoda Formation of the Shidara Group in Aichi Prefecture, central Japan. The specimen represents the first and oldest fossil record to Crangonidae of Japan.
