Molluscs including 55 species have been found from the Futamata, Odaira and Ieda groups and the lower part of the Kurami group in southern Totomi, Shizuoka Prefecture. The molluscan assemblages from the lower parts of the Futamata, Odaira and Kurami groups are characterized by the abundance of Saccella miensis, Macoma optiva and Cultellus izumoensis. They are correlated with the early Miocene molluscan assemblage from the Yamanouchi member of the Mizunami group in Gifu Prefecture.
