This report deals with the Miocene calcareous algae from the Mizunami group. Most of these are crustose corallines but a few articulated corallines were also present. Near to them, in addition to one genus of Squamariaceae are also pointed out for the first time. Brief consideration is given to the importance of the calcareous algae as rock builders, in stratigraphic correlation, and for palaeoecologic interpretation. Described as new are Lithothamnium tokiensis, Lithophyllum oborensis and Lithophyllum minoensis.
