The amber bearing Kamado bed was developed in a small area near Oginoshima, Kamado-cho, Mizunami City. It is mainly composed of boulder gravels having thin beds of sandy silts and sands at the base. The sandy silt bed bears ambers which include insects. These sediments indicate the existence of small swamps and sudden burial of them by supply of enormous quantity of boulders. The Kamado bed is probably the Middle Pleistocene in age.
