Six thousands specimens of Elasmobranchii fossils were obtained from the Miocene Mizunami group and twenty-six species were recognized in them as shown in Table XII-3. Elasmobranchii assemblages in the group summarized as follows; 1. Carcharhinus Assemblage: Tukiyoshi member, Togari member, Shukubora facies (northern part). 2. Carcharhinus - Myliobatis - ("Squalus" - Squatina) Assemblage: Yamanouchi member, Kujiri member. 3. Carcharhinus - Odontaspis Assemblage: Shukubora facies (northeastern part). 4. Carcharhinus - Odontaspis - (Isurus - Negaprion) Assemblage: Nataki member. 5. Carcharhinus - Dasyatis - Negaprion - (Odontaspis) Assemblage: Nataki member (Okuna). 6. Carcharhinus - Dalatias - Odontaspis - Negaprion Assemblage: Nataki member (Togari St. 288).
